(Long Beach, CA —March 15, 2022) Through the Healthy Long Beach initiative, a bilingual pop-up clinic being held this afternoon is part of a collective effort to equitably deliver public health information, guide people to vaccinations, support families in navigating the rapidly changing COVID landscape, and bring people together towards a just COVID response in Long Beach.

All doses of the three vaccinations will be available for children ages 5 and up, and adults. Vaccinations will be administered by the City of Long Beach Health and Human Services Department. More information about the City’s vaccination program is at www.longbeach.gov/vaxLB.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 15, 2022; 1:00PM - 5:30PM

WHERE: St. Matthews, 672 Temple Ave., Long Beach, CA 90814 (at 7th and Temple).

WHO: St. Matthews Catholic Church, Rose Park Neighborhood Association, the Long Beach Forward Healthy Long Beach team, and the City of Long Beach Health and Human Services Department.

WHY: This vaccination effort will reach the under-resourced segment of Central Long Beach that is one of the major areas of the community that has been highly impacted by COVID and who continue to face harm from racial and economic inequities.

About Healthy Long Beach: In January 2021, Long Beach Forward launched the Healthy Long Beach campaign using door-to-door and direct outreach to spread public health education about COVID-19 resources and ensure equitable vaccination efforts across West, Central, and North Long Beach, reaching well over 40,000 homes to date.

About Long Beach Forward: Long Beach Forward builds community knowledge, leadership, and power with low-income communities of color to drive real change and to advance the vision that Long Beach can be a place where race and income do not determine one’s future—it can be a community where everyone is safe, connected, and healthy.
