Meet the Long Beach Forward team

Mailea Seronio Ang

Mailea (she/her/they) was a Communications intern who joined the team as an Organizing Fellow for Best Start Central Long Beach. She is currently an honors student at California State University Long Beach majoring in Public Relations with minors in Marketing and Sociology. She's always loved helping and building relationships with people and this formed her desire to contribute to causes bigger than herself. Her passion for community activism and making social change stems from seeing the conditions of the world around her. She wishes to genuinely support others and uplift communities by working to improve them from the inside-out.

She was very involved throughout high school and previously completed a summer internship at Congressman Mike Thompson's office where she assisted with case and human resource management. She is currently serving as the social media manager for the Honor Code magazine at CSULB as well as a leadership team member for the honors mentorship program. Though she is still green behind the ears she makes up for it with enthusiasm, kindness, and a fervent desire to learn.

OUR VISION

Race and income do not determine one's future in Long Beach—it's a community where everyone is safe, connected, and healthy.

OUR MISSION

To create a healthy Long Beach with low-income communities of color by building community knowledge, leadership, and power.
