Meet the Long Beach Forward team
Elsa Mei Tung (she/her/hers) serves as Research and Policy Analyst, where she provides strategic policy research and analysis for the multiple campaigns and collaboratives that Long Beach Forward supports. Her portfolio includes the city budget, economic inclusion, affordable housing, and land use. Elsa is a public policy professional with 11 years of experience at all policy levels—from global to local, from government to nonprofit. Early in her career, she served for five years as Senior Legislative Assistant and Deputy Press Secretary in the Washington, DC office of Oregon Congressman David Wu.
Most recently, she served as Policy and Research Manager at the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, where she oversaw park equity advocacy initiatives at the city, county, and state levels. Elsa earned her bachelor’s degree in politics from Mount Holyoke College and her master’s degree in international environmental policy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
